RETREAT FAQ

HOW LONG IS THE RETREAT?

The retreat is a 5-night/6-day intensive, including a two-night ceremony with Iboga complemented by other sacred medicines, workshops, practices, and rituals for integration and refinement in the days after.

OTHER THEN THE IBOGA CEREMONY, WHAT ELSE IS PROVIDED?

All meals are provided during the retreat as well as Kambo cleanse before and after the ceremony. For integrative purposes, other medicines, like Sananga and Scelitium are provided after the ceremony. A variety of practices like yoga, workshops, and sharing circles are an integral part of the post ceremonial refinement period.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF GOING ON AN IBOGA - MICRODOSING JOURNEY BEFORE JOINING A CEREMONY?

When microdosing with Iboga for an extended period, eg 4 - 6 weeks before joining an Iboga ceremony brings certain valuable benefits, like one could say “a lot of the work” happens already during a schedule of microdosing.
Microdosing with Iboga allows the body to get used to the medicine gradually and also prepares the system for larger doses. Having done a course of microdosing allows one to move through the first layers of the mind, allowing to gain clarity for contemplation and reflection.
Often through microdosing iboga, one is able to switch to a more detached perspective. This switch allows the recognition of patterns and behavior, without habitually giving in to them.

ARE HEALTH EXAMINATIONS REQUIRED AND ARE THERE MEDICAL STAFF PRESENT AT THE SESSION?

Rooting into Me has a thorough screening process in the primary consultation. Only those meeting the physical and psychological health parameters may join. Those within the parameters do not need examinations. Furthermore the team is working with the somatic intelligence of each individual body, ensuring that every body receives the appropriate dose for their journey.  This ensures the effects of Iboga are well within everyone’s physical limit. The raw root bark is not an immediate onset so it is offered slowly over an extended period of time which is very different from medical settings when one is being given the purified extract. Therefore if someone passes the screening, there is no need for medical supervision.

WHY ARE ALL PARTICIPANTS REQUIRED TO BE FREE OF ALCOHOL, DRUGS AND MEDICATIONS?

An alcohol, drug or chemical detox is a completely different ceremony. It requires a quick-acting form of Iboga like Ibogaine or TA to interrupt the dependency immediately. A detox can take people to their physical limits and requires much more attention and supervision. Not conducive to a group setting. With less extreme, habitual dependency, the choice to be free and clean before the ceremony represents respect for this powerful event.

This program is for those willing to do the work. Not only in the session but before and after. Iboga is one of nature’s most powerful tools but a tool is only useful for those prepared to use it.

IS THERE A STRICT DIET REQUIRED BEFORE A CEREMONY?

No. Generally, it is recommended to limit processed or chemical-containing foods, refined sugars, and caffeine. More important is to become aware of not only what is eaten but how and how often it is eaten. Bringing awareness to what can sometimes be habitual eating patterns.

WILL I BE ABLE TO ARRIVE LATER OR LEAVE THE VENUE EARLY?

Please ensure that you arrive on time for the beginning of the retreat as it's essential that we all start and end this journey together. Please do not plan to leave before noon on the last day to leave enough time for the closing circle and to say your goodbyes.

Conscious beginning & completion is an important part of this retreat.

WILL I BE ABLE TO GO BACK TO WORK RIGHT AFTER THE RETREAT HAS ENDED?

We recommend taking it as easy as possible after. Our team emphasizes and focuses on the importance of integration through various practices, workshops, and classes post-ceremony.
It's been our experience that those that take most part in the integration segment are most integrated and ready to meet life at the end of the retreat.

MICRODOSING FAQ

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF IBOGA MICRODOSING?

Microdosing on Iboga is the most gentle way to connect to the spirit of Iboga and receive its benefits without necessarily committing to a full dose. Iboga microdosing has successfully been used to treat addiction, address trauma or gain clarity for reflection and insights. During a program of microdosing one can take a more detached perspective to look at one's behavioral  patterns and have the space to choose to act on them or not. Through microdosing one can come to a place of more self-acceptance and become aware of negative thinking patterns. Further benefits are a sharpened focus, an increase in creativity, and productivity.

WHAT IS A MICRODOSE AND HOW DOES IT AFFECT ME COMPARED TO A LARGER DOSE?

Microdosing is the act of consuming sub-perceptual (unnoticeable) amounts of Iboga over a longer period of time. This means even though you are taking Iboga, you might not even feel it in the first days or weeks. It builds up slowly in the system over time and many people start noticing it after 10 - 14 days. A microdose doesn’t affect your ability to live your day-to-day life.  However, larger amounts of Iboga require a safe container, which is held by a professional facilitator. It is not recommended to take larger doses by yourself. A microdose is approximately 0.5% of a ceremonial dose.

CAN I GO TO WORK AND/OR DRIVE WHILE I AM MICRODOSING IBOGA?

Yes, absolutely! It is encouraged to follow your usual routine while microdosing. The purpose is to observe your day-to-day life through the eyes of Iboga. To see the pre-existing inner and outer patterns that are happening in your life, so don’t change what you normally do. Driving while microdosing is not a problem at all.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO TAKE MY MICRODOSE?

For most people, morning is the best time because the beneficial effects will last throughout the day without interfering with sleep. We recommend taking your microdose on an empty stomach with a glass of water. Although it is also ok to take it after food.

IS IT SAFE TO DO THE MICRODOSING BY MYSELF?

It is safe and possible to do the microdosing by yourself without guidance or support. If you are experiencing a sense of overwhelming you can just take a break in your microdosing schedule or take less.
However, for best results and a deeper understanding of your process we recommend the guidance of an experienced practitioner, who can support you with tools and practices along the way - or have a look at our self-guided Iboga microdosing course.

CAN I DRINK ALCOHOL WHILE I AM MICRODOSING IBOGA?

There will be no negative effects by just having a glass of wine or beer. Conscious moderate consumption doesn't affect you negatively. Although keep in mind that Iboga may potentiate the effect of alcohol.

DO I HAVE TO FOLLOW A STRICT DIET WHILE MICRODOSING?

No. Generally, it is recommended to limit processed or chemical-containing foods, refined sugars, and caffeine. More important is to become aware of not only what is eaten but how and how often it is eaten. Bringing awareness to what can sometimes be habitual eating patterns.

Sometimes during a microdosing , one might notice a change in eating habits or the body might crave different types of food. As we become more aware of our body and its needs, we can begin by making healthier choices based on our own body's needs and not health propaganda. At a later stage during microdosing, we recommend adjusting the diet to more high vibrational foods. Please note there is no reason to avoid eating meat or fish.
